Woita Pizza

Audrey and Glen - this has definitely been our favorite thing so far that we have made with the awesome basil plant you gave us before we left StL (that basil plant has also been pretty much the only thing that has survived in our "garden" all summer). I almost bought a Margherita Pizza the other day, until I realized that we had all the ingredients at home to make ourselves... including our own fresh basil leaves and some fresh tomatoes that a friend had given us from his garden.

We actually made our own pizza sauce - no cans of anything... all freshly crushed tomatoes - which we had never done before and it was DE-LISH (and very easy)!!

Then we added mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, Woita basil, and some grilled chicken just to make it manly... and voila! Two personal pan margharita pizzas on whole wheat crust... the best part definitely being the fresh basil :-)

Yummy...I want your recipe for the sauce. We, too, have fresh tomatoes and basil in our garden and I'd love to make this!

Also, I'm super-jealous of your peach tree, even though it seems to be quite a hazard to Nacho. I'm glad he's okay.
