Post Production

After the making of "House Tour" yesterday, Adelaide and I recorded some bonus features. Enjoy (they're quite boring actually. But don't worry... they're short).

House Tour

I hesitated to do this for a number of reasons...

1. What if someone sees it and then decides they want to rob us? Well, they will not know where we live and once they see the video they will see our assortment of thrift store and hand-me-down furniture, zero fancy electronics, or anything else valuable for that matter.
2. What if someone sees ME and realizes that I don't shower every day? Well, folks, guess what. I am an every-other-day-shower kind of girl. Go ahead and judge me.  I'm also a stay at home mom which means I don't exactly get sweaty every day.
3. Everyone will hear my stupid comments and know that I do not know enough about iMovie to edit the audio and cut them all out. Oh well.

We got an AMAZING deal on this house... seriously, we should not really be living in this neighborhood. But God is gracious and generous and we are praying that we will always use what He gives to glorify Him! So without further ado, here is our new house! I apologize for the shakiness.... I am not an expert video-er.  I hope you enjoy it so much that you are inspired to come see it (and US) in person!  We have plenty of space for guests!

a few notes:
- it randomly snowed yesterday, hence the pile of towels by the front door.
- i'd like to get matching baskets for Adelaide's shelves. Please excuse the fact that none of them match at the moment.
- i don't really know why i showed our closet. who really needs to see someone else's closet? seriously.
- I forgot to show what is above the dining room table. And the only reason I would show this is because it is the only change we've made to the whole house (besides a little paint) and we really like it. It is this chandelier.

A tale of 2 friends

Once Upon A Time...

...there was a cutie pie named Adelaide.

Adelaide had a friend named Nacho.

Adelaide thought Nacho had nice cheeks...

...and nice jowls.

So nice, in fact, that she wanted to give him a kiss.

Nacho wanted to say thanks...

... so he kissed her back.

"Oh Nacho, I love you," said Adelaide

"Aw shucks," said Nacho...

 "...let's snuggle."

But then Nacho had to take a break to scratch his back on the floor.

It really wore him out.

While he was doing that, Adelaide did push-ups.

The End.

Sunny days...

Sorry yall... I could not pick just one of these.  These are the select few as it is :-)  Adelaide enjoyed her first time ever playing outside in the sunshine!  I hope Spring is here to stay!!

[please excuse the snotty nose in the first pic.]

You heard it here first

Well folks, remember yesterday when I said I feel like Adelaide could be crawling "tomorrow"... meaning today? Call it a mother's instinct :-)  Okay, so it's not so much a full-on crawl as it is an army crawl (perhaps she had a training session with Army Captain Patrick G. Forrester over the weekend?), but it is a crawl nonetheless!

For your viewing pleasure... I took two videos just for good measure:

She might get her looks from her daddy but she obviously gets her athletic ability from... her Aunt Dana?  ha. probably not from me. Can't believe this girl is growing and getting so strong so fast!

5 months already?!?!

Okay, so I am a little behind on the blog posting. We have been quite busy lately... finally closing on this house, painting/decorating it, hosting lots of church activities, friends and family visiting, etc. I have taken so many videos lately that I really want to get up, but it seems like none of them are even fun to watch anymore... Adelaide rolling over? Please, she's been doing that for months now. Video tour of the new house?  Well, it doesn't even look like that anymore because we have paint and pictures on the walls (in some rooms).  So anyway, I will just update you all on what Adelaide is up to NOW.

Adelaide had ANOTHER weight check on Monday. She is now a big 13lbs!! ... which is back up to the 25th percentile where she started out when she was born. So hopefully we won't have to go in for weight checks every month anymore (although it has been nice to spread out her shots a little!).

Adelaide is super pensive and observant. She can sit in her little chair (THIS ONE given to us by Amber and Max Easton and we l.o.v.e. it) for a LONG time just watching people move around the kitchen.

But she is also really really smiley. Her laugh is SO cute, but she is still a tough cookie to crack. You have to do something REALLY funny.... like cough. Boy, she loved it when I coughed one time. But just one time. The cough is not funny the next day.
She really loves rice cereal and baby oatmeal. We are trying to introduce a few other things slowly, but she never seems to like it on the first try... except peas. Homegirl loves her some peas. Applesauce, not so much. But peas, yes please. She LOVES Nacho. Anything else ceases to be entertaining when Nacho enters the room. And he is so so great with her. He lets her pull on his jowls and his ears and never complains.

Her biggest milestone recently is that she can sit up on her own now. It is SO cute. At first I thought it was just a tripod sit (holding herself up with her hands on the floor in front of her), but if we put toys in front of her she picks them right up and plays. She of course falls over after a few minutes, but I think her sitting is really impressive!  She is uncontrollable when I lay her on the floor b/c she just rolls and rolls and rolls and ends up in the most precarious spots. Unfortunately she doesn't really enjoy the jumparoo that someone let us borrow... I guess she feels too confined. Because boy if she is on the floor and sees a toy (or a Nacho) that she really wants, she moves and squirms every which way she can to get to it. I am convinced she is going to be crawling tomorrow. She does this push up position thing with her hands on the floor and she gets up on her toes so that her whole body is off the floor otherwise. And sometimes she moves backwards instead of forwards, but I think that is a first step to crawling. I know it's early, but maybe in the next couple months!
Also, when she is in the bath, her hair is literally PAST her shoulders and on her back. I love it. And I think it might end up with a bit of a wave to it like her daddy. Man I would love if she had loose curly hair. But in reality, I would love it if she had super straight hair too. She can't go wrong.  Oh, and her eyes are still blue like her daddy's too. I love that.  She goes down for naps relatively easily (still taking 3/day), but night time is always better... she knows it's bedtime after her bath. She will not sit still for stories though. She just wants to eat the books. I try try try not to rock her to sleep, but sometimes it's just so sweet that I can't help it :-)

Her other great milestone is that she sleeps through the night now! She started doing this soon after she turned 4 months and it is amazing. She sleeps from about 7:30p to 7:30a... give or take. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first teeth because of course she would NEVER cry if not for the pain of teething... right?? just kidding. But I do want to blame every unnecessary cry on teething, even though I don't honestly see any visible sign of teeth. She is pulling on her ear and chewing like crazy, though.

Adelaide, you are SO sweet and such an happy baby. I cannot believe how big you're getting and all the new things you're always learning.  We love you more and more every day! You make us both smile all.the.time.  We are so thankful that God gave us YOU!

sorry for the wordiness... but hopefully there were enough cute pictures interspersed that it kept your attention!

The funnest of fun times

Don't you just love those friends who you've known for years... and even though you don't see them very often it seems like there is no catching up or get-to-know-you to do... just lots and LOTS of fun and laughter. i LOVE those friends. And we got to see some of them this weekend!  Our WONDERFUL friends the Hunter, Jeannie, and Sawyer Moore and Patrick Forrester came to visit good ole King George this past weekend.  It was relaxing and still fun-filled. I mean, how can it not be with these guys? There is really nothing that we did worth talking about... lots of time in PJs, drinking tea, watching kids play, watching NCAA basketball, playing games, and we might have ventured out of the house once or twice in 5 days. haha.

Save the Date... how does June of 2032 sound?

There are a few more pics on Jeannie's blog.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU guys for coming (i know it's quite a drive out to the middle-of-nowhere, VA)!  It was definitely a much-needed, refreshing weekend for Schub and me. Let's not wait too long to get together again soon! Love yall.
