Sweatin to the oldies?

Today I discovered that the little peanut's legs are finally big enough for all the leg warmers we have for her!  Jeannie gave us her first pair... and I loved them, but believe it or not, SCHUB was the one who thought they were so cool that he registered for them. And when we didn't get them from our registry, he bought some. And when we couldn't find any brown ones, he MADE some (you heard me right) out of a pair of men's brown dress socks.

So anyway, today we tried them on her again and her legs finally have some chunk to them (she hit the big 1-0 lbs this past week). Don't you think she looks like a little Jane Fonda with her leg warmers and head band??  I love to put a headband on her, even when we're just hanging out at home b/c she is just so stinkin' cute in them!

I think she likes them... don't you?

Then I thought her feet might be cold so I put on these super-cool boots that Brooke gave her for Christmas.

Then we went downstairs and she sat in her bumbo and let me take her picture for approximately 2 minutes before she started screaming in an effort to politely inform me that she was tired and needed to be put to bed.

2 months

We went in for Adelaide's 2 month check up on Monday. Here's where she stands:

22 inches long (50th percentile)
9 lbs 1 oz ("somewhere between the 10th and 25th percentile"... which probably means like the 11th, but the nurse was trying to make us feel good about our little peanut.)

We have been having a hard time feeding her for over 2 weeks now. She just all of a sudden started more or less refusing to nurse... like, she would nurse for 3 minutes and then be done and then scream and scream if I tried to put her back on. You would have thought i was poisoning her. At first we thought it was just that she was starting to like the bottle better for some reason and that we just needed to retrain her to nurse. But after 2 weeks of still not eating, i don't think that was the problem. The doctor seems to think that her reflux is so bad that she has just developed a negative association with nursing and probably her throat burning. Soooo, we now have to feed her every 3 hours - even during the night, which is awful b/c she was sleeping like 7 hrs at a time.  We have to make sure she get 4-5oz, so we either give her a bottle, or I nurse as long as I can (she'll rarely go more than 5 min) and then top her off with 2oz or so.  Considering she's probably only been getting 2oz at a time for several weeks, it is taking FOREVER to get her to drink 4oz, so it has made for a long couple of days. And we've only been doing it for 2 days!  We go back for a weight check on Monday.

Other than that this girl is happy and healthy. She is really following lots of things with her eyes, she is smiling a ton and squealing a little, she is steadying her head when I sit her up, and she sleeps like a champ.

There you go for the baby update!  Here she is napping on the floor looking as sweet as ever this morning :-)

First time in the Bumbo

Please excuse the bedhead and the spit up in the corners of her mouth... and yes, our 7 week old baby gets bedhead. We literally have to brush it.  I think by next week I'll be braiding it.

Once again, I couldn't pick just one.

Can't get enough

This is a boring post. But people really just like to look at pictures anyway, right?  I mean, I know all these pictures look alike. But she is just so cute that I couldn't just pick one. Sorry. You will just have to look at all 4 absolutely, completely adorable pictures of the homegirl.
