Joe, Lucy, and Katie

I somehow did not get a picture of Julia!! (Sara please apologize to her for me)

Things I did not get a picture of:

  • Sunday afternoon pizza lunch on the back patio with Jenna and Lindsey.
  • The neighborhood game of kickball that we all played in the backyard.
  • Coming home at 5:00 to empty ice cream bowls all over the living room, to find out that Schub had given them ice cream at 3:30 as an afternoon "snack."
  • Kelly and Tim doing the hyper dance that night at bedtime.
  • Alvin and the Chipmunks.
We had such a good time!

It's a good thing kids usually come one at a time

We got to spend a little over 24 hours with one of our favorite King George families, well at least the kids, this weekend. Meet the Hodge kids. These are four great kids... and yes, we are exhausted, but it's only because we had so much fun.

cute cute Austin

Alex (turns out it's hard to get a 6 year old to take a normal picture)

Austin's car (he wanted me to make sure it was included in the pictures.)

Now they are pretty good kids, but if they were bad, we just stuck them in the crate with Nacho. (just kidding... in case anyone was about to call DSS on us... they did this for over an hour.)

By the end of the day, Halee was quite tuckered out. Nacho was a gentleman and let her sleep on his pillow.

The boys got in some Wii time...

And Hannah cooked almost all our meals for us. This morning we had banana pancakes which were DE-licious.

It's a good thing they are such good kids because this week we are staying with the four Bentz kids from Wendesday til Sunday... we can't wait!

Loot.

There was an Olson lady who married a Shoe... maker.
She had so much food she didn't know what to do.... maker.

This is Nancy Olson Shoemaker (on the left, that is).

And this is Nancy's food:

A couple weeks ago, Nancy Olson married Woody Shoemaker. Nancy has 9 kids and Woody has 6. Tomorrow, Nancy is moving to Burlington, North Carolina with Woody. Today, Jason and I helped them pack up the last few things that were left in Fredericksburg... and above you see what we came home with. I guess a lady with 9 kids keeps A LOT of food in the house. And when you're moving 10 people's belongings to another state into a house of 7 people, food is apparently not what you want to worry about bringing with you. So Jason and I were kind enough to offer to take some food home with us.

Yes, that is a 5 lb. container of hot chocolate. Yes, that is 5 boxes of lasagna noodles. Yes, that a 1 gallon jar of dill pickles. Yes, that is a 1/2 gallon container of mayonnaise. Yes, that is a 3 lb container of Nesquick. You will also see a 35 oz. jar of Mexican verde salsa, a GIANT container of canola oil, a HUGE bag of mini marshmallows, 5 or 6 bags of a variety of chocolate chips, several jars of pesto, a huge jar of roasted red peppers, 32 oz. of Grey Poupon, about 100 tortilla shells, about 20 cups of chicken broth, and much much much more.

And yes, we do plan to make fried chocolate pickle lasagna, with a mayonnaise marshmallow topping.

The District

That's what they call it up there in D.C... the District. And here are our pictures. I posted more than I probably normally would... because we got a new camera.

This is the classic picture that you're supposed to take when you have a fancy new camera, right?

Esther! This was at lunch at Good Eats. It's an AWESOME burger place in the Capitol Hill area that apparently Michelle Obama loves. So do we. Schub got the "Prez Obama Burger."

This is Schub's artsy/paparazzi shot in the metro station.
There were sooooo many trick-or-treaters out! Seriously, D.C. had the busiest Halloween either of us had ever seen in our lives. We're talking hundreds of kids. They swarmed every corner and people just stood out in their lawns handing out candy. It was so cute.

Thanks for an awesome day, Gavin and Esther! It was so so good to see you guys and to catch up and encourage one another. We are really grateful for you
