Homegirl went in for another weight check last week. At 7 months, she was a whopping 14lbs 10oz.... still putting her in the 10th percentile. But the doctor finally just said, "Well, someone has to be in the 10th percentile to make other kids average." With that, he sent us on our way and said he would see her at her 9 month well visit... which means for the first time ever we aren't going in for a weight check at 8 months. woohoo! I sure am getting tired of that copay.
Adelaide is SO so busy these days. She has been crawling (like, hands and knees crawling) for about a month now, and she.does.not.stop. She is pulling herself up on anything and everything her little arms can reach up to. We are officially FINALLY down to two naps a day - usually about 1.5hr in the morning and 1.5hr in the afternoon. I wish it was more, and sometimes it is, but she seems to function alright for now. She still goes to bed at about 7:30, but she has been waking up earlier lately, like at 6:30 or 7. She likes pretty much every food we have given her and she is just starting to be able to pick up those little puffs and put them in her mouth by herself (that's Nacho's favorite snack time b/c he knows that it's a 50/50 chance that a puff will land on the floor instead of in A's mouth).
The Schuberts were in town this weekend and Adelaide loved playing with her Granmom and Papa... and I loved the chance to run a few quick errands by myself! (sorry this is not the best picture... she was only over there for .2 seconds before she moved somewhere else so I have to take what I can get)
We also watched a neighbor's 10wk old baby girl for just an hour or so on Saturday morning. As you can see everyone was interested in the new little friend.
I love to sneak into Adelaide's room after she falls asleep just to see what position she decided to settle in and which of her 6 pacis did the trick for her. Apparently the other day she decided she needed a little pillow.
Speaking of pacifiers, Adelaide only gets hers in the crib and in the car (the two places she will fall asleep), but we really want her to be paci-free by her first bday. In fact, we're both kind of ready to start getting rid of them now, but I think I'm just too nervous anticipating the sleepless days and nights. When is a good time to get rid of them... and any tips?
Okay... wrapping this up. This girl is awesome. She is so much fun. I LOVE that she is so busy and always on the move and forces me to attempt to keep my floors clean. Oh, and she has been quite chatty lately too (Ya, Ga, Wa, Ba, Da and EEEEEEEEEEE are her favorite sounds). I love hearing her and can't wait til they turn into real words. She makes us laugh every single day. And she's adorable. That is all.

Our pediatrician recommended taking the paci away at a year as well. I couldn't bring myself to do that to her on her first bday, so we waited a few days... we had about a week tops of crying to sleep (though simultaneous teething probably didn't help), but that was it! One week to wean was not bad, and I am SOO happy we did it sooner rather than later. :) A
Can you imagine sleeping in that position???!! Love this update! She's growing up :)
This probably isnt helpful, but if you wait, maybe she'll lose the paci on her own. Sawyer gave it up little by little when he discovered his thumb. You never know!
she is so cute. i am still so amazed at what the girl can do already! i think you will have your hands full as she starts to walk. she sounds very brave! and i think 14lbs is great because it is SO much easier to carry them when they are so light. lily was about 16lbs at 7 months and she is still light! we did the same thing with eva and her paci as far as just in bed and just in the carseat. that is a smart move. and i think eva was a little over a year when we took hers away. it wasn't fun and it took about a week of rough beginnings at nap time and bed time but we did it! i tried the snip the pacifier tip off approach. it made eva MAD. the idea is to cut a tiny bit of pacifier off each day until there isn't much left to suck on. but that failed big time for us so we just took it away cold turkey. anyway, you can either do it at a year or wait longer when you can "reason" with her by trying to exchange the paci for a new toy or something. but in the end they will still want that paci at bedtime! okay, i blab too long. she is so cute, love all the pics!!
I love this little peanut and I've never even met her. How precious that she curled up with a pillow. She must just make your heart melt. I've been getting baby fever a little here and there, maybe it's not so far off for L and I. We'll see! Glad all is well.
