Countin down the days...

Do you know what this is a picture of? It's a paper chain! Do you know what this paper chain represents?? This is how many days I have left at my job. Go ahead, count them. Oh, okay, I'll just tell you. It's 20!! Exactly 4 weeks from today will be my last day of work at Washington University. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely be sad to leave the place, especially the people. But I will be pretty glad to leave the work itself. Starting tomorrow, I will rip one link off this chain every day when I come home from work. And on May 12 I will get to take that very last yellow one at the top off the wall altogether!!

For those who are interested in my countdown, i will try to take pictures once a week to show you the progressive shortening of my paper chain. Then you can visualize how many days I have left at work along with me :-)

I think you should rip one link off each morning and tape it to your lapel (just typing the word "lapel" and picturing you wearing a homemade corsage link of sorts is literally making me laugh out loud).

I think you should take your camera to work every day and take a picture of yourself doing something REALLY silly at work EVERY DAY. You could post them all each night, or just post your favorites. You could sneak the photos (maybe taking a spin in your boss's chair or laying on your desk) or get someone else in on the action (picture of you while you slide down some bannister). You should DEFINITELY do it. :) It would be hilarious. At least for me. I'm sure Jason would laugh too. :) If you do it, I'll take a picture dare from you. :)

OK. The chain is HILARIOUS!!!! Yet sad because no more work at Wash U means pretty soon no more living at Atherton. Oh my Schuberts. How I will miss thee.

brook - what you DON'T know is that Lindsey does those things on a regular basis at work. i've seen it! she read several pages of harry potter and the deathly hallows while literally sitting on top of her desk in the corner of her cubical with her legs stretched out in front of her.

I'M NOT LYING! I SAW IT!

lins - i think you need to have a ceremonial burning of the last link in the chain.......

Need a new visual. Can you use your link as a measuring stick, too? Like, is it currently "one Lindsey"?
When you're preggo, the books tell you things like, "today your baby is the size of a walnut"..."today your baby is the size of an orange", etc.. How about some similar updates. What is the link the size of today? :)
