Jason and I kept saying that we didn't really want to have a big party for Adelaide's birthday. But I really wanted to invite all her little friends from the neighborhood (p.s. there are like 100 kids in our neighborhood) and just have a little play date. So then when we decided JUST to invite neighborhood kids, we decided that there was one other family we wanted to invite. Oh, and two more. But we were just going to keep it really simple and just have the kids play in the backyard for a little bit. And then I really wanted a finger painting table. And we were just going to have a little play date snack... of cupcakes. Simple, basic cupcakes that I would make from a box. And then my neighbor, who happens to be an amazing baker, offered to make amazing Mickey and Minnie cupcakes. And we put a candle on one of them.
And there were just a few balloons.
But it was not a party.
It was a glorified play date.
It was a blast.

definitely not a party....riiight. :)
It doesn't look like a party at all. I mean, it's not like both sets of grandparents traveled into town for the "play date" or anything. Also, it looks miserable, and your back yard looks HORRIBLE and totally small and un-fun. ;)
Can't believe Adelaide is two! I'm still so jealous of her hair... And that bow!
that picture of sam and lizzie is the best :) hahaha.
Whoa so much Schubert to catch up on! She is TWO!!!!! You have such an awesome backyard for a non-party. I love that Jason is still sporting the homemade moby--must have been expertly made. Beckett is looking so big! I love Adelaide holding up one finger on each hand :) AND that post of Jason's day off just killed me--Adelaide sitting on the potty all day, looking totally entertained each time. You guys are so wonderful and I miss you so much
How did our young, newly married couple friends (who lived across the hall) without kids turn into this beautiful family of four so quickly?!?!? I love it. Great pictures Schuberts!
what a fun day! man - if that wasn't a party - what's gonna happen in a few years when she finally wants a real one? better hope your neighbor stays put! :) so excited for next year when WE WILL BE HOME TO CELEBRATE!
Loved all the pictures Adelaide's little play date! So cute!!
