Halloween 2011!!

Halloween was SO fun this year. I keep wanting to say it's "Adelaide's first halloween!" but really it's not.  Last year, though, she was only 3 weeks old, so we didn't dress her up in costume (i was not nearly on top of things enough at that point to have a costume). Actually, I didn't put much effort into planning anything for this year either. About two weeks ago a friend of mine said I could have her daughter's costume from last year, and about 5:45 Monday night was the first time we put it on her.  But she was SO so so cute in it. Like, I could NOT get over how stinkin adorable she looked in this costume. And of course, her Farmer Daddy topped it all off too.

*disclaimer: i REALLY wish I was a better photographer. Just don't zoom in too close on anything.

I LOVED watching them go off into the neighborhood and watching them stop at their first house across the street.  Jason said that Adelaide had a great time riding in the wagon and that she waved at everyone they passed.

I also LOVED seeing all the kiddos in our new neighborhood.  They were all so cute and so sweet and I LOVED that halloween brought EVERYBODY out into the streets hanging out together, parents just talking to each other in the street while their kids ran around dressed like princesses and super heroes.  Look at all the kids marching up to this house that had a smoke machine on outside.

I was trying to snap a picture of this group of kids as they all walked away from our porch and one of the dads goes "hey! do you want their picture?? HEY EVERYONE - get back up there so she can take your picture!" It was awesome and made me smile so big. Everyone was in such a good mood that parents let complete strangers take their kids pictures and the kids RAN back happily and lined up and SMILED for the photo op.
How cute is Rocky Balboa in the bottom left?!
Our neighbor and good friend Jocelyn came over as a monkey.

And not too much later Schub and Adelaide came home with a few pieces of candy.

We let her have some animal cookies.

The rest of the evening Schub and Adelaide answered the door, and we eventually had to turn our light off because we ran out of candy (and it was bedtime for Adelaide anyway). I guess I'll know to buy more next year (or be a little less generous??)!  Schub and I stayed up late playing a new game and eating popcorn.  It was a fun night!

Oh, and I have some video of Adelaide waddling around in her cow outfit that I will try to post this week. SO cute.
